No DVI, and only one 6pin power plug. Noted.

they could have made a short card, but NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO lets go full retard and make it way longer, it will sell MOAR slzvzcivh sipj dsufopu iish vs vh9.

3rd party cooler and custome PCB = win

look at the underside - the pcb is relatively short! the giant fan shrould thing hangs off the side. just get aftermarket cooling & your length concerns are moot 🙂

I prefer bigger card, they are more quiet! I think that videocards shouldn't make more noise than case's or CPU's fans. In my experience, I went for a Gigabyte 970 ITX...After 3 months I changed my Coolermaster Elite 110 mini ITX case for a Phanteks Evolv ITX case much bigger. One more later I changed the GPU heatsink for a Kraken G10 with a Corsair H90 with a Noctua 140mm FAN with LNA same noise as the case's fans. ( with 40ºC less GPU temp and 10-15ºC less VRM temp). No matter the TDP of the GPU.....you can sometimes end with thermal throttle (specially in summer) and when this is almost to happen, the GPU fan is already loud.

Would be a decent thing to put another 6pin power on there and get that thing under water (true water, not stock water cooling please 🙂 )

Its a "Bigger" card because have GDDR5 (long story),if it was with HMB1/2 then the new Polaris 10 will come short as Fury PCB. Custom Polaris will have 2x6pin.

$199! If the performance is decent that's a winning price bracket.

Very nice pricing by AMD. Let's hope card will deliver. Knowing nvidia, gtx1060 will probably be more expensive.

I remember that I buy custom 670 for over 200$, so, that's a really nice price point.

Did you even look at the pictures? The PCB itself isn't big at all; it's the cooler that is large just like it was on the air-cooled fury series. Just get a GPU block or custom cooler and you'll have a small card. :3eyes:

AMD just need to get some stability in driver updates and they will be golden

If the performance of the 480 really is what AMD claims in the final released product, I would pick up two of them easily.

i dont understand one thing that why Amd cant increase memory clock speed.its only 1225 mhz compare to 2000 mhx Nvidia.Even Amd had finfet advantage still so low speed?

Umh, the memory bandwidth of this and 1070 is essentially the same...but it's a bit sad that it is poorer than the much older 280x

Their AotS test was really weird. They were clearly using lower settings on their hardware compared to GTX 1080 yet the performance was more or less the same. If two of those are faster then the shouldn't make a stupid mistake like that. It definitely doesn't make me feel confident about their results. Besides, having owned 2xGTX 680 single card is always going to be better than two.

if you had money for a titan x at some point... then you will have money for one or even two 490/x ... better wait for that one. not saying 480 will be a bad card. but possibly not the biggest upgrade from a titan x even when you buy 2x 480... unless you want to build another second gaming pc with it

AMD just needs to get their "frame pacing" shtuff down and they just might start turning my head once again... I could not imagine with their frame times even attempting to get a "smooth" experience out of their hardware. Until something drastic changes overall for their cause.....this guy is sticking it out with team green...

Its the GPU core running at 1225MHz, not the memory. The GDDR5 should be at 2000MHz (8GHz effective). Nvidia's core are going to clock muck higher, because they have lengthened the GPU pipeline, to increase the clock speeds. AMD's cards don't seem to have changed that much in the GPU Architecture, the pipeline length is probably identical to Fury/390/290. This means that even with a really good overclock, 1225MHz is doable, and for overclock, I would say 1300 or maybe even 1400MHz. The tests against RX 480 at the same clocks will be able to tell the difference in pipeline length, if there is any.

I hope MSI, Gigabyte or others will have version with DVI. I still using old monitor that requires analog source signal from DVI-I or D-SUB. Don`t have money to buy both GPU and monitor this year
