https://geizhals.eu/?cat=gra16_512&xf=1440_RX+480 8GB 264€ in UK, 278€ in Germany i dont have ANY problems with a rather old 270X cfx so why would there be problems with 480 cfx. if people cant configure their stuff properly. not my problem.
Lol yes because all games support multi-gpu in your world.

The power usage is troubling, but overall I think the card is good for the price. As more DX12 games come out it's going to look better then it does now. Plus it seems like it's throttling pretty heavily, even at stock. AIB solutions will help with that.

Sadly, the 1070 is a better deal. Where this card shines is DX12/VR.
Did you have xfire setup before btw? 😀 I just remember that nick of yours. Well if I am spending lets say max 300€ 1070 can't be the better deal. I would need that extra 159€ still.

Pretty happy for AMD with what I'm seeing 🙂 Keeps me feeling optimistic for good things from Vega!

Hmm not that impressive the price wont be 240 or 200$, in here its more than 300$, but the card still good makes 970 and 980 not so relevant

AMD today is actually announcing three products: AMD Radeon RX 480 4GB and 8GB (high-end performance) AMD Radeon RX 470 4GB (mainstream performance) AMD Radeon RX 460 2GB/4GB (entry level)
480 high-end performance? In 2016? Compared to what? :3eyes: Let's compare it to an old AMD high performance and successful GPU: 290X was high end level performance in 2014. 480 can only beat 290X by one or two FPS in some games and is beaten by the less performing 390 (non X) in the games where 290X results are not present. IMHO 480 is not high end performance...2016 medium level performance at best: 480: medium 470: low 460: basic, more or less the same than "performance" iGPUs.

tiny bit faster than stock 970 (1178mhz) slower than overclocked 970 power draw higher than 1070 power draw higher than most in idle runs hot runs loud great DX12 performance great pricing (in the UK) Hmmm. Definitely avoid for me, mainly because of the heat and noise. AIB will be interesting and if they're sub £200, I might be buying one over the 970. Is there an ETA on AIB cards?

I had Sapphire Tri-X 290 OC UEFI in CFX, with 480s pre-ordered. Then I saw the crappy temps and crappy clocking on the 27th. Decided that I would not want these cards, and the AIB versions would be overpriced. 1070 is the way to go...

So...319 Euro here in Finland for the reference. That's quite sad, I picked up my 970 for 360 euro year and a half ago. About the same performance for almost same money 2 years later. Sad. And WTF is up with the powerdraw? Up there with the 1080 with 50% perf...

Compared to the 7970 I guess. 😕

2nd 😛 lol Edit: both guru3d and techpowerup have some server issues. But from what i saw so far up to stock Fury perf. Just like that 3dmark11 gpu score leak.
Its slower than stock fury in just about every benchmark except 3dmark11 p-score.

Congratulations on a well priced card AMD!

Very interesting card if the retail prices are what they´re supposed to be. Performs better than my 970 and shines in DX12 games. Too bad it overclocks like crap. Perfect for the mainstream market. Also it seems that Nvidia´s cards continue to perform worse than AMD in DX12 and also continue to drop their performance as the resolution increases compared to AMD... I could be wrong but i think that Nvidia needs to cut the prices of the 1070 and 1080 to better compete against the 480. Great review as always!

This might actually force some to upgrade to 390. it's faster and costs about the same as a 480 8gb. There's a lot of nice AIB 390 out there as well that will have much better thermals and run silent. Bit of a flop, this.
