with 4096 it would be at least 7990 level performance but of course I am expecting more with newer gcn and more everything. And if it is HBM ofc. So yes according to these it should be 10% faster then 980 aib. But we will see. All rumors and hear say. Considering 290x is 800 sp's more then 280x and this might be 1200 more then 290x. 7990 was 4096

If the SiSoft specs for 390X are right: The memory speed is 625MHz aka 1.25GHz effective, not 5GHz effective - but it's HBM memories behind 4096-bit membus

Anyone with any experience guestimate how long from this sort of stage of production to actual product announcements and availability?

You go ahead and wait for it, dont forget you buy two, nvidia likes money. πŸ˜€
The Titan 2 is going to be a beast, that wil smoke everything mark my words.

Not sure why people here are so into the Titan GPUs. The first Titan was disappointing for the price, was a jack of all trades, and a master of very little. It was basically just a watered-down Quadro with a GeForce logo slapped on. That isn't to say the GPU was bad, but considering nvidia had better offerings for a better price really showed how dumb it was. If anybody is going to expect competition against AMD, it will be the 980Ti. The Titan GPUs are nothing more than a "hey check out how rich I am" statement. Another thing to consider: suppose the Titan 2 happens to be better than the 980Ti - it will likely cost at LEAST twice the amount of an r9 390X and will only be marginally better.

I dont care too much about heat ,that can be sorted out with water cooling and case modding or aftermarket cooling solutions , all i want is pure power at a good price, i've been with Nvidia since my 5970s and wouldn't mind giving AMD ago again , so fingers crossed that these cards will blow the green team out of the water when it comes to price and performance I bet for the price of a titan 2 i could go tri crossfire and still have money in my pocket. I wonder if they will be here late 2014-early 2015.

You think amd isn't in the market to make money? Think again. Afaik none of their hardware has ever been free.

Well what is listed is the PCB , so its a bit hard to estimate anything . This dont give us much information about it. This PCB Could be send for any reason to anyone.. if the Sandra entry who have appear this morning is not a fake / misunderstood report this mean sample test of the gpu's are allready runnning.

I keep holding off for a graphics card. I want an AMD one and I want it to be their latest, but I want more than 2GB. All they have out that of the newer designs is the 285 and that's really more of just a minor revision bump. Anandtech said they'd been told that there were 4GB 285's coming, so I might end up getting one of those. But if these were available they'd probably be on order for me right now!

I've had my eye on a 285 and I've been really considering it, but the 2GB was also a turnoff to me and I don't really have the time to wait. I got a 290 for $250 instead, which should be arriving today. It was a little bit out of my price range but at least it'll last me a while.

Might get one of these. πŸ˜€

Damn that sounds like a beast of a card. Also maybe AMD might improve the reference cooling by putting on a similar cooler to what the r9 295 x2 houses currently and that should be the cooling improvement they need.

I'm in the same boat and might make the same choice you have. I'm trying to hold out but I'm way overdue for an upgrade. :/ The only thing that has stopped me just getting a 290 as you have done, is that we're close to Christmas and I see all these price drops on AMD cards and it makes me think maybe they're clearing stock for some new releases... Probably optimistic. πŸ™

If I had to guess I'd think that this card is closer to launch then most people think.

Hmm I didn't think about that, particularly with black friday. Oh well, I need a new mouse too so I guess I can wait for that. Either way, $250 with 4 free games and a very effective cooler should do me just fine.

Oh, it'll be fine for a good long while! I just a slight obsession with not buying other than the current generation of things. It's neither healthy nor gains me anything. But I like high numbers. πŸ™‚
