Get out of here with that crap. The card is an excellent 1080p card but not a 1440p card end of story. My potatoes I have in my computer right now will run 1440p just fine at low settings so I guess that makes them ideal 1440p cards.

Savage. It's weird I remember seeing a couple of reviews that didn't have problems with the wattage, but must did have that problem (consuming a lot from the PCI-E, and more than 150w at full load)

I think it means architectural revisions. So for example, going Polaris 10 to 11. So, not just simply tweaking clocks, voltages, or memory quantities. These revisions might involve where laser cuts are made on the die, though. Just my guess anyway.

10 and 11 are different chip configurations. 11 is the smaller chip that will grace the 460 likely with a cut 10 in the 470.

You still sound like an elitist. You dont have to turn 480 to low for it to hit 60fps just a notch down from highest. And also I do have a freesync monitor so the experience should be excellent.

I understand that. I wasn't expecting Polaris 11 to be used for something like the 485 anyway, I was just using it as an example of how the revision is probably going to be more than just a mere set of tweaks.

Your reading comprehension is lacking. I did not claim the 480 has to have setting at low but you will not get highest with any AA and maintain 60 fps. AMD is setting this at the top of the 1440p scale not bottom. It definitely did not get praised for it's 1440p capabilities. In fact even the 980 didn't and I considered upgrading to a 980Ti specifically for 1440p. I run a bunch of games currently with an overclocked 980 at medium/high settings because I can't maintain 60fps. RX480 is a nice 1080p card, it's definitely not a 1440p card.

I thought I read somewhere that AMD specifically intended the RX 480 to be for 1080p. That being said, the 4GB model makes a lot more sense, especially since (from what I heard) it has better bandwidth. Doing multiple 8GB 480s in Crossfire seems like it'd be a fantastic 2k gaming setup; the price, performance, and power consumption ratio would be very solid. A single 480 should handle just about any game that doesn't support crossfire with playable frame rates.

Find me praising the 970 for 1440 performance 970sli maybe but not single 970. Hell not even single 980 could do that and oh look where this card is positioned right smack dab in the middle of those two cards.

Im not a fanboy - I just cant stand when people say that you cant get stellar performance if you dont play on max graphics or locked 60fps especially when there are freesyinc and gsync monitors out there and you dont get any stutters when the framerate dips below 60.
