There's the M295X (equivalent to 7970), but it's not been released for much outside of imac 5k and the new alienware 15. Seems like the m390x is going to be a rebrand of the m295x. So this basically that's being advertised. Still far behind the 980m it seems, and nowhere near the new 980 notebook version.

I'm confused, aren't the cards in this article designed for computational acceleration, as opposed to pure graphic rendering? perhaps i misunderstood the article, it was very confusing to read.

You're right! just notices that myself, "casino machines and medical rendering". Very confusingly written but that definitely is a mxm card that could go in a laptop (if the picture us what they're advertising)
