True. This launch would be a lot more interesting if they had chosen better games. For example, Jedi Survivor. A great game that would probably benefit a lot by this tech.
Anything in the Steam top 20 would have made sense. 09-29-2023 7:45AM https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/749302480633987152/1157282009316593775/2023-09-29_07_43_43-Steam_Charts_Most_Played_Games_on_Steam_SteamDB_-_Brave.png?ex=65180a5c&is=6516b8dc&hm=bcdc76186c8517fb5b82fed339d4f739869290a9ad58c3080e12b8e3961f6e00&

Very strange game choices to showcase this. This morning (US time) there was barely 150 players on Steam combined for both games. https://steamdb.info/app/2009100/charts/ You would have thought AMD would have picked something a bit more exposed, to show some confidence in their product?
You think AMD is in COMPLETE control of the situation? Are you SURE it is as simple as that? Do you KNOW it as FACT? Maybe those two devs agreed to have it be available at this time?

I'm sure of what is going on right now, and that's the only thing that really matters to me.

These 2 games show the tech well - both are heavy. Closing your mind to reason and reality can be dangerous/problematic...

Here comes stupid frame generation tech. A Generation satisfied with perceived smoothness . Actuality and originality is getting less and less relevant nowadays
Have you actually used frame gen? Like everything, it has its advantages and disadvantages. Doesn't mean its stupid though. I'm excited to try out FSR3 on my 6900xt. I had to fix a friends PC that had a 4070ti, and testing with Hogwarts Legacy with frame gen was rather amazing. I get that I was getting (fake generated frames), the base fps before frame gen was greater than 60, which is fine for a sp game. But the icing on the cake for me was the GPU usage/power usage. I wanna say the GPU usage was at like 50%, and the power draw was at 120w. To me thats a major win! Smooth frame rate locked at 144fps, and only 50% gpu utilization.

I just tried out the Forspoken Demo with FSR3. There were some image quality issues with major blurring/ghosting when I scrolled side to side. The game play was stuttery as well. The game played better with FSR3 turned off. It's almost as if FSR3 has some type of syncing issue. Fidelity FX is much smoother. Maybe it's just this game and the tech will showcase better in others. I'm still very happy this tech exist and that it's finally released. It's going to take some time. DLSS didn't get great overnight. I'm very curious to see the advancement and future improvements. Despite what I'm seeing now, there is still a major conversation to be had. Does an enthusiast gamer spend $900 to a $1000 on a top of the line AMD card with FSR3 or $1600 to $2000 on the best Nvidia card with DLSS3/Framegen?

I'm going to try your settings. I had everything cranked to the max when I tested on the 4090.

Lots have managed to fix the frame pacing on both amd and Nvidia

Just retested at 1440p. Smooth as butter with FSR3 and max settings. This is a weird scenario because native res, Fidelity FX and DLSS are buttery smooth at 4k max settings on my Intel build. FSR3 for some reason is stuttery at 4k. The image quality takes a hit too. I'll continue to test. Overall I'm having a fantastic time with this. Very exciting and this is the competitive shot in the arm that's needed.

If no one but a few enthusiasts on a tech forum sees it it's not gonna get much attention. Doesn't matter how well it works if there is little implementation. There's your reason and reality.

The Forspoken demo, in the last few days had 0-4 concurrent players. Now it's at 251 concurrent players. This is like a 100X increase 😀 https://media4.giphy.com/media/kSlJtVrqxDYKk/giphy.gif?cid=ecf05e47qwy2qkvggyjemnmt93tkeftetcd49puvop9sdfyy&ep=v1_gifs_search&rid=giphy.gif&ct=g

LOL, dismissing peoples realistic concerns entirely without reason shows a very closed mind 😀

Nonsense. But, at least you laughed - they say it is good for you 😎 So yeah...up to the developers to select the features they support. You can think that AMD keeps all devs on a very tight leash, if you wish...

🙂 That number may be tiny, but maybe it will lead to enough pressure on developers to include it in their games from some people - you don't alway need a lot.

If he had said that, you might have had a point. Again, deliberately ignoring other peoples concerns. And when what you say against others is not applied to yourself, thats dangerous 😉

I find it amusing how pissed off people are that their proprietary features weren't used in one game - not like Nvidia shoves blackbox features in countless games that have caused many a headache for users whom were on previous generation NV cards or AMD cards. Anyone remember gameworks? Witcher 3 and its hairworks, Fallout 4 with its ridiculous godrays, FFXV and its always on gameworks features (despite settings supposedly being turned off in the games menu) and while many will say "but those gameworks features were open to all users", yes this is true but we all know it's a marketing strategy so that users will feel compelled to upgrade to the current generation of cards for the respective games by crippling performance on older cards or other competitors cards. So regarding these features, do we blame developers of the games or Nvidia? Using the haters on Starfield then as an example, we should hate on Nvidia..... Food for thought? All in all, AMD are just copying Nvidia and now you guys know how sh*t it is when it happens to you.... As for my opinion? I hate it anyway how AMD and Nvidia are behaving this way, stupid duopoly of which I believe in my tinfoil hat conspiracy theory, I'm sure there's collusion in the background and price fixing too with financial backhanders being passed around.
