Is it just me or 56 GB feels really small ? That's basically the size of a single blu-ray disk, or half of the size of a modern AAA game. What is this leak, just text? No pictures, no engineering documents with highly detailed schematics ? Those can take a lot of space, in the order of hundreds of MB each (think TIFF pictures)

It all depends what is in that 56 GB.

I wonder if their IT group saw any high bandwidth notices.

Well when you really think about it, why would it need to be more? The kind of data AMD works with isn't bound to be all that bloated. Most of their valuable data would be plans, contracts, legal documents, existing schematics/diagrams, and databases. It's highly unlikely all of such things would be accessible simultaneously. Considering AMD is fundamentally just an engineering firm, I don't feel any of those categories would really stand out to have hundreds of GB of "spicy" data. Even their electrical CAD files wouldn't really have to be that big, despite their complexity. It's not like they have a bunch of uncompressible assets.

I agree... Usually they take all they can get...it's sort of a bragging right for them when they "announce" it. This would indicate they didn't get much, whatever it was. But until AMD verifies, we don't know if even that much is factual. It could be "0 bytes" or a 2010 program disk left in a drive somewhere and abandoned/forgotten by someone at AMD.
