Still expensive 7000 CPUs and mobile GPUs. Boring, not watching. Guess we'll have to wait for Q2 for RX7800... All I want is the 7500/7600 cuz It's all I can afford...

Don't worry, reality will kick in very soon when people receive their first winter energy bills. Not to mention the other major problems that the world economy is expected to experience over the next years... The number of people willing to shell out over $1000 on some electronics toy is going to evaporate very quickly.

In my climate, I've pretty much been in winter for a whole month (I already have snow), granted, real winter hasn't hit me yet. Thankfully, I knew what was coming so I prepared for it. My preparations appear to be working so far. In any case, the unfortunate reality is as long as these parts keep selling out (which they are), the prices will remain justified. Even if desktop chips lower in demand, the demand for the factories themselves isn't going to change much, which means desktop parts are still going to be priced high despite low demand. Considering AMD and Nvidia have both seen a sharp decline in sales, they will adjust production accordingly.

New windows, attic insulation (still have more to do), rim joist insulation, replaced weatherstripping, installed a mini split, installed insulative blinds, replaced flooring with thicker underlayment, and other small but not insignificant things. I do have an interest in going solar but probably more for heat than for electricity. You can harness more solar energy as heat than as electricity. The tricky part is storing it.

It sounds really good, thats a lot of changes, maybe next year you can sort out the energy storage part of your plan, i have seen people buring big water tanks, but i haven't seen a lot of good results.
