oops double post...
but to anticupidon - it depends on what your workload is and how much you game.
i have a MacBook pro (bought for working on-site with all day battery).
it is a brilliant piece of tech and ARM has a lot of merit.
but if you have a lot of proprietary software you will have to run it through an emulator if it can be run at all.
Alder Lake is splitting the practical difference while being x86, Meteor Lake will be much more powerful.
Zen 4 will offer huge increases for productivity (more than is possible with Big/little) while offering stability across future cpu generations like Zen 2 and 3 did in past. unlike Apple and Intel.
for Apple, unless you're buying an M1Ultra Studio w/ w6600x combo you can forget about gaming AAA games unless, again, emulator. but more importantly it's a closed ecosystem and you can't change your RAM or CPU. and i'm not certain how easy it will be to even change an M.2

Would be nice to have 5950X3D like the wanted, but i'll wait for Zen 4 or 5, as the 5950X is such an awesome little fellow!
