I'm not sure why the headline includes nvidia as merely a single line refers to them in the news, but the rest and all the slides are about amd, but a good thing never the less. Implementation can't go fast enough!

Great that they're supporting a wide range of gen gpus, as for whats in store due to DX12, im not holding my breath.
This is AMD and Nvidia after all, they aint gonna start giving away free gpu boots of significance if they can help it.
Either way, developers and publishers are the key here. Fancy drivers and apis shouldn't be the ones picking up the slack for poorly optimized games.

Windows 8.1 is getting DX12, though some features will be omitted. Mainly OS specific stuff, but nothing that really has an effect on gaming.
Last I read.

So similar to Windows 7 and DX11.x ?
That's good news if true

Microsoft in one or more of their Win10 press events. Here's one of the sources in english SirJamesDTech

Really looking forward to getting to try these updates, even if it forces a Win10 "upgrade".
Still a good excuse to get a new bigger SSD, along with 390X pushing a shiny new 4K FreeSync screen. (going to be a fantastic screen to program on after living with 1920x1080 for so long!)
Going to be a Good Year 🙂

Im confused as to what the fuss is about.
If you have window 7, you have a window product key, grab a second Hdd or partition you only drive and install a second instance of Windows 7 onto it, then hit the upgrade button when it goes live.
All this fuss from those not interested in win10 and annoyed that win7 isnt getting DX12, I think they're forgetting that to take full advantage of DX12 a new gpu is required anyway.
Says so in the RPS article posted above.
