Hopefully ddr5 is stabilized in market by the times i go AM5.
Was hoping a 5800x3d would be AM4.

I read somewhere that shortage of materials will last until 2023 at least , so its nice they continue to improve technology while no one can obtain it.

Looks like a tweener CPU.
Perhaps a bit of both?

if the estimates of 15% over non 3d Zen 3 are right this will be a nice upgrade from my 3700X and since I'm already on a 570 board I don't have to fear for compatibility.

The 5800X3D beating a 5900X and it being on AM4 is a nice touch, already beating Alder Lake lol.
The RX6500 for low end at $199 is a good deal, much better than the RTX 3050 at $249. AMD could easily take the entry level crown here, especially with FSR now being inside the driver software as RSR.
Just finished the Nvidia keynote.... it was awful. An overpriced low end GPU, an announcement of an over priced 3090Ti that will get scalped to high hell and then just talking about some weird AI for cars.

Well 5800X3D going have 96MB of L3 cache, can't see 5950X3D launching would be 192MB cache with two ccx.

Yeah, looks like V3D will end up being just a marketing gimmick. I suppose it's something worth checking out if you have a compatible board and an older Zen CPU. It's certainly of no interest to anyone on Zen 3, unless you're expecting to spend more time tied down to this platform, but even then... I just don't see it. Unless your CPU has just died it literally makes no sense to pick up that CPU without waiting to see what Zen 4 is going to be all about.
