I wanna be the first to say congratulations to the Guru3D team and Hilbert for this article. I thoroughly enjoy this type of articles and I would love to see more from various companies in the future.

I enjoyed reading it. Just for the record my Vertex 3 and Agility 3 SSD's are still running great after 2 years.

Cool article. I should probably try and hunt down a second 512 GB Vertex 3 for RAID 😀

Great article, Hilbert. As an SSD fan I'll watch where OCZ is taking us. Also, Mr Brinkman avoided some tech in the interview (which is not surprising because he's more of a marketeer), but I think we love to hear some of that more in-depth stuff. 😉

Thank you for the interview. Competing against SSD manufacturers who were also the makers of the flash chips had to be difficult. I also like the emphasis on durability and sustained performance. It won't be an easy task with TLC chips. My Vertex 1 died after being abuse for 4.5 years with very little free space, swap, browser cache etc. I didn't expect it to last that long. And perhaps it would last for longer if I was more eager to upgrade the firmware. To put it in a perspective, I'm replacing Crucial M4 for the 3rd time in 2 years, and it hasn't even been used for swap. The most of current SSDs are more than fast enough when they're new. So if OCZ/Toshiba release new SSD with good reliability, performance over time and low power consumption, I might be getting one after warranty on my M4 expires.

Great read. I've been a OCZ "fanboy" for years and have bought products from OCZ, Samsung, and one Intel drive. Out of maybe 20 drives I have only experienced 2 failures, one from OCZ and one from Samsung. I feel bad OCZ got in the situation they did, both because of competition limitations and some bad "value" products that were value in speed AND reliability. I really think the Toshiba acquisition has been and will be a great thing for them.
