ZOTAC Launches GeForce GTX 1060 6GB GDDR5X Graphics Card
Zotac now as well releases a GDDR5X version of the GeForce GTX 1060 named GTX 1060 6 GB G5X Destroyer. These have been fitted with GDDR5X and a GP104 GPU, and that's the one used on the GTX 1080.
Don't get too excited though ass that GP104 used might have a partial defect, reject or are surplus chips, they then disable half of the cores and leave the working ones active. It's interesting though as the entire flash BIOS discussion would open up again, what if you inject an illegal firmware in there and would it be possible to get a fully working GP104 GPU? A fully enabled GPU has 2560 shader cores, where the GTX 1060 has 1280, exactly half of them. This all also explains how NVIDIA can tie GDDR5X memory to the GPU opposed to regular GDDR5.
Zotac applies the same cooler as the Mini version and applies reference clock frequencies of a 1506 MHz core, 1708 MHz GPU Boost, and the memory remains at a reference 8.00 GHz as well.
The new model would be priced in the 299 USD bracket.
- Powered by GeForce GTX 1060
- Integrated with 6GB GDDR5X 192bit memory
- Single 8-pin power connector
- Connectivity is 3x DisplayPort, 1x HDMI and a DVI-D

SLI connector again.
I'd find it hard to believe that the 1060 GDDR5x version doesn't have SLI considering the fact that if all are going to come out with them, what is the liklihood of that? What is the likelihood that all manufacturers are using the same PCB, constantly and forever, as the 1080 variant? Doesn't seem likely.
