Vanquish coming to PC via Steam

Vanquish coming to PC via Steam

Sega has officially announced that it will release a PC version of its Platinum Games-developed third-person shooter Vanquish on May 25 via Steam.

Vanquish for PC has been a long time coming; fans of Platinum’s action games have been begging for a PC port of Vanquish since the game was originally released on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in 2010. The PC release is coming shortly after another PlatinumGames’ fan favorite, Bayonetta, was released for Windows PC via Steam. (In fact, Sega is offering a 25 percent discount on pre-orders of Vanquish to players who also own a copy of Bayonetta on Steam.)

The PC version of Vanquish will feature support for 4K resolution and will ship with an unlocked framerate, Sega said in an announcement today. The PC port will also support keyboard and mouse controls in addition to gamepads. Sega also promises “anti-aliasing, anisotropic filtering, SSAO lighting, scalable texture and shadow quality,” as well as other PC-specific features.

It kinda makes me think of Gears of War.

I am SO excited about this! I never got around to playing the PS3 version owing to the substandard graphics (PC snob after all) but really wanted to.

Waiting has paid off!

Reminds me of Binary Domain more than GoW.

Well it plays nothing like those games. Though you can play it like a regular cover shooter, you really should not, as you won't get much fun out of it that way. This game is all about speed, movement, and over the top action. Getting up close, unleashing your shutgun at point blank range, and then rocket sliding to the next target. Just watch some youtube footage of a good player to see what I mean.
