Sony announced the release of the "Portable Theater System". This innovative system includes two wireless rear speakers that can be separated from the front speaker, allowing users to enjoy surround sound wherever they go.

The Portable Theater System features a distinctive 3-in-1 design, comprising a compact front speaker measuring around 300mm in width and two wireless rear speakers positioned above it. Each component is equipped with a built-in battery that offers a battery life of up to 30 hours, enabling users to carry the system anywhere in their homes and enjoy high-quality audio.

The system incorporates a sound mode that combines the sound wavefront from the three speakers, creating multiple virtual sound sources to produce an immersive three-dimensional sound field. Users have the option to select between two sound field effects: "Sound field effect on," which utilizes Spatial Sound Mapping for a surround sound experience, and "Sound field effect off," optimizing the wide directivity of the rear speakers to fill the room with comfortable sound.

In terms of connectivity, the Portable Theater System supports Bluetooth 5.2, providing a maximum communication distance of approximately 30 meters. It is compatible with various profiles, including A2DP, AVRCP, HFP, HSP, SPP, and supports codecs such as SBC and AAC. Additionally, the system offers "multipoint connection" functionality, enabling seamless switching between two connected devices.

The dimensions of the front speaker are 306mm (width) x 123mm (depth) x 97mm (height), weighing 1.4 kg. The rear speaker measures 122mm (width) x 39mm (height) x 122mm (depth), with a weight of 295g. It's priced $499
