Solidigm, a global leader in cutting-edge NAND flash memory solutions, expands its highly regarded D5 Product Series with the launch of the Solidigm D5-P5430. This new QLC solid-state storage drive (SSD) is specifically optimized to cater to mainstream and read-intensive workloads.

With the majority of today's enterprise applications being predominantly read-oriented, the D5-P5430, a 4th gen PCIe QLC SSD, provides exceptional storage density and significant Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) advantages. It offers read performance on par with the most widely adopted TLC SSDs. The D5-P5430 is designed to excel in mainstream workloads such as email/unified communications, decision support systems, object storage, and virtual desktop infrastructure. It also delivers outstanding performance in read-intensive workloads such as content delivery networks, data lakes/pipelines, and video-on-demand. These workloads typically entail 80% or more reads and require efficient data movement at high throughput.

By serving as a drop-in replacement for TLC NAND-based PCIe-based SSDs, the D5-P5430 can reduce TCO by up to 27% for typical object storage solutions. It achieves a 1.5X increase in storage density and lowers energy costs by 18%. Additionally, Solidigm's latest drive offers up to 14% higher lifetime writes compared to leading TLC SSDs.

The D5-P5430 is particularly beneficial for data centers, addressing critical issues such as power efficiency, edge computing, and infrastructure sustainability. Its high density contributes to reduced power and cooling expenses, while minimizing the number of drives required by up to 2x when compared to alternative solutions.

As a natural evolution of the 2.5-inch form factor, the EDSFF E3.S is specifically designed to meet the demands of high-performance flash storage. By adopting E3.S, organizations can achieve more efficient and dense deployments within the same rack unit, while improving cooling and thermal characteristics. Moreover, capacities can be increased by up to 1.5 - 2x.
