Snapdragon 835 has Kryo 280 cores at 2.45GHz Max

Snapdragon 835 has Kryo 280 cores at 2.45GHz Max

Some info on the new Snapdragon 835 mobile SoC for high-end 2017 smart-phones just surfaced online, the new chip will get Kryo 280 cores at 2.45GHz Max. The SoC will get eight of these of which four can run at a max 2.45 GHz.

Interesting is also that the SoC will get a gigabit model. Back in November, Qualcomm pre-announced a few general specs for the 835 and detailed the benefits of a die shrink to 10nm. Namely, there would be a 27% performance improvement and up to 40% less power consumption compared to the previous version. The 30% increase in area efficiency obviously also allows for thinner phones and more room for other components.

The four Kryo 280-cores will get 2MB L2-cache, the four slower ones will run a maximum of 1.9 GHz tied towards 1 MB L2 cache. The graphics is provided by an Adreno 540 which promises to be 25% faster opposed to the older 530 revision. The new GPU would be capable of 10bits 4k-video / 60 fps and 10bits hevc 4k.

Check the leaked slides below for more details.

Would you consider getting the ZenPhone? Because it's one of the first to announce it'll be running one. ASUS!
