by Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 08/04/2010 10:30 AM | source: | 0 comment(s)
Samsung outted a new model of it's 2TB HDD EcoGreen series.

The new model is tagged as EcoGreen F4EG and thus comes with 2TB of storage using just three platters. Samsung states that it has 19% better standby time performance and 23% lower power consumption in standby mode than the previous F3EG HDD using four platters. Each of the three platters in the F4EG has 667GB of storage.

Samsung has removed halogen compounds and BFRs from the drive systems. The HDD also has Samsung SilentSeek and NoiseGuard technology. The F4EG uses the 3Gbps SATA interface, NCQ, and has a 32MB buffer in a 3.5-inch form factor.
