Samsung Adds U32H850 - A 4K VA Panel and Quantum Dots

Samsung outs a new monitor called the U32H850, it has been fitted with an Ultra HD 4K VA (Vertical Alignment) Panel and is Quantum Dots based, offering 1 billion hues create images in vivid and wide-ranging colors.

Samsung’s Picture-by-Picture capabilities let you connect to two different devices at the same time while still maintaining the original image quality.  The 31.5" screen has a resolution of 3840x2160 (60 Hz) with a 4ms GtG response time. The monitor as such as a 16:9 aspect ration and 178°(H)/178°(V) viewing angles.  Brightness (Typical) is 250cd/m2 with a nice Contrast Ratio 3000:1( static).

10-bit color is supported, without dithering, giving support for up to 1.07 billion colours in applications and workflows that support this.  With its four USB 3.0 ports, you can transmit data between devices 10 times faster than you could with USB 2.0 ports. Two of these ports also enable you to recharge your tablet PCs, smartphones and other mobile devices in super-quick time—3 times faster than USB 2.0 ports. The monitor stand can be removed for usage of the 100 x 100mm VESA mount. The outputs on the monitor include; HDMI 1.4, HDMI 2.0, DP 1.2, mDP 1.2. Adaptive-Sync and hence AMD FreeSync is supported on the DP 1.2 and mDP 1.2 inputs and possibly via HDMI as well.

Availability on price and availability is still TBA.

Its so easy to edit the freesync range though.

I have 30-80hz on my 21:9.

Great to see more 32" 4K monitors coming out. However, the LG 32UD99 looks way better: http://www.lg.com/us/monitors/lg-32UD99-W-4k-uhd-led-monitor

I wish there were monitors with something inbetween 4K and 1440p...like 16XXp or 17XXp, as i would like something above 1440p, but do not care for such a high resolution of 4K on a monitor.

There is if you are not on 16:9.

21:9 has 3840x1600 in the 34-38 inch models.

I use it for downsampling as well on my 29 inch 21:9 2560x1080.
