AMD's upcoming Threadripper 7000 series, codenamed "Storm Peak," is expected to offer either 64 or 96 cores, depending on the reuse of EPYC 9004 dies for HEDT purposes.

A new discovery of the Threadripper PRO 7985WX with 64 cores on the PugetBench online database hints at the possibility of a Threadripper 7995WX with even more cores. The Ryzen Threadripper PRO 7985WX "Storm Peak" processor is built on the "Zen 4" microarchitecture, boasting an 8-channel DDR5 memory interface (16 sub-channels) and a 128-lane PCI-Express Gen 5 root-complex. It was spotted running on an AMD internal development board named "Boulder Gulch." The system included 256 GB of 8-channel DDR5-5600 memory and an NVIDIA RTX A5000 GPU.

The Ryzen 7000WX workstation processor series from AMD is anticipated to be released in October 2023. With final SKUs appearing on benchmarking websites, it's evident that AMD is in the advanced stages of development for the Threadripper 7000 series, nearly a year after the desktop AM5 platform debut.
