Rise of the Tomb Raider PC screenshots

Rise of the Tomb Raider releases in 7 days on the PC, and Square Enix has released two new screenshots from its PC version.

It's only two shots folks ... in portait mode though. The game will be available for Windows 10 and Steam in next week.  The secrets of history are hidden in hostile environments. Lara must survive in the wild, then discover and explore deadly tombs filled with traps and puzzles in her search for the Lost City of Kitezh. While searching for a lost city in Siberia, Lara and her friend Jonah become separated when a massive avalanche triggers during a storm. Lara must scavenge resources, forge weapons, and gain an advantage over Trinity forces in pursuit of the secret she seeks. Discover the legend within.

Wow, nice blurry texture on the rock (right screenshot). Is it the 3DS version? ;)

No, it's focus blur. Try doing that on a 3DS and see how it looks.

As stated above me, that's focus blur (or is it called depth of field? whatever you want to call it), it's something i almost always disable along with motion blur as i agree with your statement that it looks bad. But it's not the texture that looks bad, the texture is fine, it's the blur

Yes, it's DOF you are completely correct.

If I had to guess, I'd say it was gaussian and not box.
