PC system requirements for Dirt 5

Codemaster has revealed the official PC requirements for Dirt 5. Depending on the specs, PC gamers will need at least an Intel Core i3 2130 or AMD FX 4300 with 8GB of RAM and an NVIDIA GTX 970 or AMD RX 480 graphics card.

Dirt 5 will be a DX12-only game and will require a DirectX 12 graphics card. According to the team, this is why the GTX970 and RX480 are the minimum required GPUs.

Codemasters suggests using an Intel Core i5 9600K or AMD Ryzen 5 2600X with 16GB of RAM. The team also recommends using an NVIDIA GTX 1070 Ti or an AMD Vega 64.

It is also worth noting that the game will require 60 GB of free disk space and will only work with Windows 10. As such, owners of Windows 7 or Windows 8 will not be able to play it. Dirt 5 will arrive on October 16.

  • Processor: Intel Core i5 9600K / AMD Ryzen 5 2600X
  • Memory: 16GB RAM

Sorry, but how on earth does this make sense? This game is coming out on PS4 and XBOne, which have much weaker video cards than the GTX970.
Are developers just assuming everyone has a 20XX card now, so they don't have to optimize games properly on PC?

For the GPU probably, not sute about the CPU, if the game requries at least AVX than no Phenom 2
