NVIDIA will receive the industry's first HBM3 DRAM from SK hynix.
SK hynix announced that it began mass production of HBM3, the world's best-performing DRAM. The announcement comes just seven months after the company became the first in the industry to develop HBM 3. It is expected to solidify the company's leadership in the premium DRAM market.
SK hynix stated that mass production of HBM3, the world's best-performing DRAM, has begun. The news comes just seven months after the business became the industry's first to produce HBM3 in October, and it is expected to reinforce the company's leadership in the premium DRAM market. With advances in cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence and big data advancing, major global technology businesses are looking for ways to quickly process rapidly rising volumes of data. HBM, which outperforms regular DRAM in terms of data processing speed and performance, is predicted to garner widespread industry interest and adoption.
NVIDIA recently finished testing the performance of SK hynix's HBM3 samples. SK hynix will supply HBM3 for NVIDIA systems, which are slated to ship in the third quarter of this year. In accordance with NVIDIA's schedule, SK hynix will increase HBM3 volume in the first half. The widely anticipated NVIDIA H100 accelerator is the world's largest and most powerful. With up to 819 GB/s of memory bandwidth, SK hynix's HBM3 is predicted to improve accelerated computing performance, comparable to the transmission of 163 FHD (Full-HD) movies (5 GB standard) every second.
According to Kevin (Jongwon) Noh, president and chief marketing officer of SK hynix, the company has achieved top-tier competitiveness in the premium DRAM market through close collaboration with NVIDIA. "Through constant open communication, we strive to become a solution provider that deeply understands and meets our clients' demands," he stated.
