NVIDIA quietly rolled out a 16 GB variant of the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti today

The recently introduced RTX 4060 Ti 16 GB model commands a 25% higher price compared to the standard variant. For an additional $100, it offers double the memory size while retaining the same 128-bit memory bus width and 18 Gbps memory speed.

The primary motive behind this modification is to address potential performance limitations associated with the standard 8 GB memory capacity. By increasing the memory capacity, improved performance can be achieved in scenarios where the standard variant may fall short. However, due to the unavailability of review units, this theory remains untested. NVIDIA's promotional material highlights only two games where performance gains may be observed. In the past, during the launch of the original RTX 4060 Ti or RTX 4060, approximately 8 to 10 units of each were thoroughly tested by various AIC partners. Similar plans were made for the RTX 4060 Ti 16 GB, but no units were received for testing.

Limited Availability in Retail Channels

Despite the anticipation of retail availability, the new model is currently listed as coming soon. Future plans involve obtaining a unit from the shelf for review once the initial driver becomes available. Presently, none of these cards can be found in online retail channels.
