At the CES 2022 presentation, NVIDIA announced the GeForce RTX 3050 and RTX 3090 Ti graphics cards. A GeForce RTX 3080 GPU with 12 GB of GDDR6X VRAM would also be released.

In comparison to the normal RTX 3080, which has just 10 GB of GDDR6X memory, the new 12 GB version is projected to provide a minor performance gain, according to NVIDIA. SMs having 8960 CUDA cores, 70 RT cores, and 280 TMUs will be found in the GA102-220 GPU SKU in the 12 GB model of this product. This represents a minor improvement over the conventional GA102-200 silicon that was used in the 8 GB version. The crucial distinction, on the other hand, is the 384-bit memory interface used by the new model, GDDR6X modules can achieve a maximum bandwidth of 912 GB/s while operating at 19 Gbps. Additional improvements include an increase in the total design power (TDP) to 350 W, up from 320 Watts on the standard RTX 3080 model. We'll have to wait until the 11th of January to find out more about the final clock speeds and pricing details.
