NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 available at the end of February (updated)

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 available at the end of February (updated)

February will see the availability of the recently announced GeForce RTX 3060. Sources now claim to have learned the final availability to be in late February.

A precise date is not claimed as typical for NVIDIA, it can shift slightly, but February 28 would be indicated by Wccftech. However, since that is on a Sunday, that's not going to happen. Considering all NVIDIA launches are on a Tuesday or Thursday, it would be far more logical to see either Tuesday the 23rd or Thursday the 25th. The reviews of the cards should also come online around that time, and with confusing seeding dates (19th), all doesn't line up well just yet.

The reference model's suggested retail price is $329. The Word is that there will not be a Founders Edition this round. The more customized cards will likely be more expensive than that $329. Earlier leaked etailer prices have indicated card to become as expensive as a founder edition GeForce RTX 3060 Ti ($399).

Updated: new information now strongly suggests a February 25th release date.

In the CES presentation, you will have spotted a single blower style product, but that one was for illustrative reasons solely, it now seems. The card will be based on an 8nm fabrication APmpere GPU that offers 3584 shader cores, 28 RT Cores, and 112 Tensor Cores, a 1320/1777 MHz GPU and which integrates 12 GB of 192-bit GDDR6 memory.

I guess, at this crazy moment, 500 euros would be the expected starting price for this card. May it serve the miners well.

My favorite part is how the 3060 has more RAM than 3060Ti, 3070 and even 3080. I know it won't be faster but that's a big bitchslap in the face of the consumers.

no way.

it is gonna be available, but at ridiculous premium.

skipping this gen completely.still waiting for my 3080 order from sept, when it arrives I'll sell it for XSX.

not if you understand that 12g on 192-bit 3060 is a gimmick,it will only serve as idle vram cache.3060ti has more usable memory with 8g 256-bit if you're targeting 60 fps.
@Fox2232 can explain it better,I don't dare. But from what I understand 12g on this card would only help in cases where you'll be targetting lower fps (higher frametime)
I think the main benefit is being able to run a vram heavy game at very low fps on 12g instead of crahing on 8g.once the 3060 has to use that 12g you're getting a slideshow anyway.

fox,can you be a sport and calculate how much vram a 3060 12g can use at 45 fps ? I hope I understood you correctly and it has to do with frametimes and bandwidth.
