New AMD Agesa Combo V2 1.0.8.1 update potentially improves latencies between CPU cores

New AMD Agesa Combo V2 1.0.8.1 update potentially improves latencies between CPU cores

You probably know CapFrameX from his activity in our forums as well as the utility, he concluded that after installing the Agesa Combo V2 1.0.8.1 update that he is noticing improvements to the latencies of the Ryzen 3000 and Ryzen 4000G chips.

So to make things a bit more precise, I am talking about inter-core latency and not inter-die latency. If this is true, then Ryzen chips should also benefit from it. A quick test confirms that with version 1.0.0.6 the latency was 56.9 nanoseconds; with version 1.0.8.1; this has dropped to 48.9 ns, a 14% differential in favor of the new AGESA revision. Other forum reports also come back with results on say an 'un-optimized' Ryzen 3950X system with improvements of 3 to 7%.

It's all a little relative and speculative right now, but it looks like installing the latest Agesa firmware based bios update might be worth it. Others also noted, the maximum boost clock of the 3950X is more feasible after the update, it was able to clock up to 4.7 GHz to 4.75 GHz more often.

yeah... tried the latest x570 taichi bios (v3.40) with "AGESA Combo-AM4 V2 1.0.8.0". My RAM xmp profile was unstable again. had to gradually revert back to v2.70 and now it's stable again. hope asrock will fix this.

No real improvement for me and I’ve been running it for a week or 2, maybe 1-2ns or so but well within error of margin.
