Netflix plans to offer games in addition to movies and series
Netflix streaming will likely be expanded with games. In order to take care of game support, Netflix is now actively recruiting staff.
The first one in the line of staff would be Mike Verdu, who previously worked for game publisher Electronic Arts and the Oculus VR team at Facebook. Verdu worked on popular mobile games, such as The Sims and Plants vs Zombies , among others .
According to Bloomberg, the plan is to add games to the Netflix platform next year, although Netflix has not officially said anything about the implementation of its gaming branch. The games would form a new category in the Netflix offer, in addition to, for example, documentaries and comedy specials. There are currently no plans to charge more for this.
In the coming months, Netflix will be expanding its gaming team. This is also apparent from vacancies on the streaming giant's website. It is not known what kind of games Netflix would like to offer. The service has shown interest in games for years. For example, you can see series based on popular games, such as the cartoon series Castlevania and the documentary series High Score. Netflix also experimented with interactive movies where viewers make choices to influence the story, such as the Black Mirror-special Bandersnatch.

I'd prefer they focused on bringing more content to Australia. I had to cancel my subscription months ago as there was 'nothing to watch'.

I don't think that they are going to just "offer" games, they are going to develop them. If their game content is a trash as their show content they make then no thank you.

Netflix has a gigantic footprint in Hollywood. so much so that it's better to think of them more like Sony (but with a bigger output and making more money).
i think it's very easy for them to take proprietary content into the gaming realm. after all, no single company has more experience in streaming than Netflix, and Netflix is well established worldwide with their own server farms.
in addition, no one else has been buying rights to stories and books like them.
the most natural marquee game for them to start with would be The Witcher.

Sounds nice.
Alternating between Netflix&chill and killing zombies&chill. For the same price.
