MSI GeForce GTX 970 Gaming LE

by Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 10/06/2014 10:04 AM | source: | 21 comment(s)
MSI GeForce GTX 970 Gaming LE

MSI will release a GeForce GTX 970 Gaming LE. LE as in LITE edition, the card is pretty identical to the GTX 970 Gaming OC, but has slightly lower frequencies with a 1076 MHz core, 1216 MHz GPU Boost in OC mode. With a software application you can switch frequencies a bit, but nobody does that.

These are the defaults. The card has the very same custom-design PCB with 8 phase VRM, 8-pin and 6-pin PCIe power connectors and the company's new TwinFrozr V cooling solution. MSI didn't announce pricing just yet, but logic dictates this one will be a notch cheaper.

Palit has, and it's pretty much the same Cooler Design:

Somehow the sense behind releasing such a card doesn't really jump at me, I have to think a bit to find reasons to release this one.
