MSI G27C5 E2 27-inch full HD gaming liquid crystal panel with a 1500R curvature

MSI revealed the 27-inch full HD gaming liquid crystal display "G27C5 E2" with a curvature of 1500R.

The low bezel design eliminates seams with numerous monitors, and display synchronization technology enables AMD FreeSync Premium. It also contains a "Anti-Flicker" feature to prevent screen flickering and a "Less Blue Light" feature to diminish blue light. The liquid crystal panel uses the VA method, has a brightness of 250nits, a contrast ratio of 3,000:1, a response time of 1ms, a refresh rate of 170Hz, a color gamut of 117 percent sRGB, a DCI-P3 color gamut of 93 percent, a display color of 16.7 million colors, and a viewing angle of horizontal / vertical 178°.

DisplayPort 1.2a x 1, HDMI 1.4b x 2, earphone output x 1 comprise the interface. The tilt adjustment range is -5 to 20°, and the VESA mounter offers a pitch of 100x100mm. The exterior measurements are 611.5mm wide, 225.4mm deep, 457.9mm tall, and weigh 4.53kg.

They really saturated the market with this curved nonsense. It's nearly impossible to find a good flat panel these days. Having briefly owned a 27" curved monitor I didn't see any benefit of it at all. I suppose if one enjoys the sensation of being inside of a fishbowl, then I guess it'd be amazing.

I personally didn't try any, but I can see why there are curved displays: on big screens I can notice the edges aren't as sharp looking as the centre because of the angle light is travelling to my eyes. The curvature is supposed to help with that.
That said, those really curved displays (R1800) have an optimum viewing distance, if you wanna sit back you lose out the experience.
With 16:9 displays I personally think it makes absolutely no sense for it to be curved. Ultra wides, on the other hand, I feel a R3000 curve is almost necessary.
I think this will be out of fashion eventually, just like 3D, just like virtual reality.
