MSI Debuts SPATIUM M570 PRO Series SSD, Incorporating PHISON E26 PCIe Gen 5 Controller 14GB/sec
MSI announces the SPATIUM M570 PRO Series SSD. This new series incorporates the novel PHISON E26 PCIe Gen 5 SSD controller alongside advanced 3D NAND flash technology, a combination promising notable advancements in storage performance.
Notably, the SPATIUM M570 PRO Series SSD has recorded top read speeds reaching 14 GB/s, establishing fresh benchmarks in the industry. The successful development of this series has been partially credited to the productive partnership between MSI and PHISON. This cooperation was facilitated by the shared ambition of both companies to extend technological limits. Phison Electronics' CEO, K.S. Pua, acknowledged the strategic alignment between Phison's expertise in NAND controller and MSI's strength in computer system integration. As MSI ventures further into various sectors, including gaming, content creation, commercial, industrial, robotics, and automotive, this resonates with Phison's long-term vision. The SPATIUM M570 Pro Series SSD leverages Phison's E26 SSD controller to harness the enhanced performance potential of PCIe 5.0. The collaborative efforts surrounding power consumption and heat dissipation issues have fortified the partnership. Phison has expressed its intention to continue supporting MSI with its controller technology.
Consistent with MSI's focus on the gaming community, the SPATIUM M570 PRO Series SSD pushes the envelope of storage capabilities. When utilized with the Lightning Gen 5 M.2 slot on MSI's MPG X670E CARBON WIFI motherboard, the SSD, equipped with PHISON's PS5026-E26 controller, exhibits superior performance. Laboratory tests have shown sequential read speeds exceeding 14 GB/s and write speeds up to 12 GB/s. MSI continues to provide products that optimize performance, enabling users to decrease latency and manage larger files more efficiently.

Well at this point only few people care for sequencial performance.... And if you stand and wonder if it will make your workload faster ...it won't for the cases you really need such sequencial speed you are well aware of it

Directstorage will load faster on gen5 so thats a good enough reason for me to get one for my main drive.

bet budget gen4 drives with better nand and controllers will run circles around early gen5 based on memory that was developed for now.

loading games doesn't even require anywhere near gen3 max speeds, the real difference for new pcie5 drives is 232 layer nand, not the connector. Better nand will come with time, and when it ends up in budget gen3/4 drives, and it certainly will, you'll have better loading times on cheaper drives.

Will skip Gen 5 M.2 drives until they make in normal size without VGA cooler on it. IMHO point of M.2 was small form factor with fast data rate, what Gen 3, and Gen 4 delivers in full for everyday use.
