New content will be added to Battlefield 2042 on a regular basis. The game's developers have stated that they intend to provide expansions for the game over the course of future seasons.

It has not been specified what kind of extensions would be included, however, indications in a recently researched plot have raised the possibility of London being included as a playable map in the game. In conjunction with the release of Battlefield 2042, DICE has published a short tale, which the creators have decorated with photographs. A unique aspect of it is that one of the photographs depicts a ship that was previously featured in the trailer for the short film Exodus, which was released in 2011. An image of a ship sailing through mist-covered sea against a backdrop of clear silhouettes On the horizon, spectators could make out the Tower Bridge and Big Ben, which were both visible in the photograph.

Tom Henderson, a data miner, has previously stated that new maps will be introduced with the introduction of new seasons. According to him, the creators will release a new specialty, fresh story content, and new maps with each season. A season is comprised of three months. Because DICE has already hinted that London will be a playable area in the game, there's a significant likelihood that this expansion will be included in the game quite soon after its debut.

It will be released on October 22, 2021 for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. Battlefield 2042 will be available on all of these platforms.
