Kingston Releases Next-Gen KC2500 NVMe PCIe SSD

Kingston announced KC2500, powerful performance using the latest Gen 3.0 x 4 controller and 96-layer 3D TLC NAND. With speeds1 up to 3,500MB/s read and up to 2,900MB/s write, KC2500 combines outstanding performance and endurance that improves workflow for desktop, workstation and power users

Kingston's new high-end NVMe M.2 SSD "KC2500" series with 96-layer 3D TLC NAND flash is released. The lineup includes four models with capacities of 250GB, 500GB, 1TB, and 2TB. The 250GB-1TB model has already begun shipping to the global market. The 2TB model will also start shipping soon.

The controller is a Silicon Motion "SM2262EN", and supports high-speed access of sequential read maximum 3,500MB / sec, write maximum 2,900MB / sec, random read maximum 375,000 IOPS, write 300,000 IOPS. Endurance is 150TBW for 250GB model, 300TBW for 500GB, 600TBW for 1TB, and 1.2PBW for 2TB.

The bus interface is PCI-Express3.0 (x4), the power consumption is 0.003W when idle, the average is 0.2W, the maximum read is 2.1W, the maximum write is 7W. The main body size is 22 mm wide, 80 mm deep, 3.5 mm thick, and weighs 8 to 11 g. MTBF is 2 million hours, product warranty is 5 years.

“KC2500 sets a new bar for high-performance client PC usage, enabling those who demand speed and reliability to handle intensive workloads on desktops, workstations and for HPC applications,” said Justin Karasek, SSD business manager, Kingston. “The compact M.2 form factor and broad range of security and encryption options provides greater flexibility for organizations who are looking to refresh their current systems, or for the power user looking to upgrade their current system with the best that NVMe PCIe SSDs can offer.”

KC2500 is currently available in 250GB, 500GB and 1TB capacities with 2TB2 shipping soon. KC2500 is backed by a limited five-year warranty and free technical support. For more information visit kingston.com.
