Kingston releases 2TB-version of KC600-SSD

Kingston launched a larger version of the KC600, this round they put a 2 TB version to the table. It is good to see larges volume sized SSDS, handy to drop in and nice and fast. The sequential read and write speeds are still at 550 and 520 MB/s.

The TBW values aren't bad either, 1200 TB before it goes the way of the dodo, double that of the 1 TB version. The KC600 utilises the latest 3D TLC NAND technology while supporting a full security suite that includes AES 256-bit hardware encryption, TCG Opal and eDrive. It features read/write speeds of up to 550/520MB/s1 to efficiently store your data up to 2TB2. It’s available in a bundle kit that provides everything you need for a smooth and easy desktop and notebook installation and upgrade.

  • Contains drive only, cloning software not included
  • SATA Rev 3.0
  • XTS-AES 256-bit encryption, TCG Opal, eDrive
  • 3D TLC NAND technology
  • Up to 550MB/s read, 520MB/s write
  • Part Number: SKC600/2048G

The warranty is also still 5 years. Pricing is a bit on the high side though at 15 cents per GB, Kingston advertises a price of around 300 euros.

Not far off what i paid for my Corsair MP600 2tb when i bought it new a few weeks ago, also normal ssd are below £200 now so they need to rethink there pricing, https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Innodisk-2TB-2-5-3TG6-P-Series-Rugged-Standard-Grade-SSD-0C-to-70C-3-Year/333482895119?epid=0&hash=item4da521270f:g:LGwAAOSwf1leFmIw

I know which one i would choose.

The price isn't so high, this one is self encryptating compatible, the normal 2 to is one of the "premium brand" with the lowest price with Sandisk.
