Intel is set to release the first batch of Raptor Lake Refresh chips for desktop PCs during week 42 of this year, which falls between October 16 and 22, 2023.

Intel's 14th Gen Core desktop processors will include unlocked 'K' suffixed components. A reputable source, known as ECSM_Official or the Enthusiastic Citizen from China, anticipates the mainstream non-K chips to debut in the first week of 2024, potentially during the CES event in Las Vegas. The Enthusiastic Citizen has established a solid reputation for reliable Intel leaks and accurate predictions, previously sharing accurate information on Core i5-13600K benchmarks and the original Raptor Lake launch.

Enthusiastic Citizen has further divulged details concerning launch timings, specific SKUs, motherboards, and BIOS information. The 'K' processors are projected to be available from October 16 to 22, 2023, with the mainstream locked multiplier desktop processors following in early 2024. Of note, the Core i7 14700K is expected to introduce considerable alterations to the refresh, featuring a novel 8P+12E configuration. This equates to eight performance cores and twelve efficiency cores, contrasting the Core i7 13700K's 8P+8E arrangement. Due to these distinctive variations, Core i7 14700K users may need a BIOS update for compatibility with extant socket LGA1700 PC systems. For the remainder of the Raptor Lake Refresh line, existing BIOS files should suffice without necessitating an update.

ECSM also provided additional leaked data. Intel is purportedly prepping Z890, B860, and H810 chipset motherboards for Arrow Lake CPUs, with H870 boards not factored into their plans. Moreover, AMD's Storm Peak Threadripper processors are predicted to be launched in Q4 of the current year, with two new chipsets in tow. Yet, AMD is not expected to introduce CPUs based on the Zen 5 architecture in 2023.

Given that these detailed leaks and launch estimates are unofficial, they should be interpreted with discretion. That said, Intel's official Bilibili account hosted a presentation in China providing some confirmed information about the Raptor Lake Refresh.
