Z690 motherboards are quite expensive and often start at 250 USD/EUR. In that mindset, if you strip away some features you could make a cheaper motherboard. Gigabyte did just that.

If you are opting for a non-K model processor soon, you probably do not need a beefy VRM design, five M2 slots, and Multi-GigE ethernet.  Of course, you could wait until B660 and H610 models hit the market, but what Gigabyte offers with the Z690M DS3H DDR4 might be an attractive alternative as it supports DDR4 as well. One noteworthy feature: the PCIe x16 slot only supports PCIe 4.0 speeds and does not support PCIe 5.0. The micro-ATX board provides two PCIe x1 slots, two m.2 slots - one of which has a heatsink as well as four 6Gbps SATA ports. With two USB 2.0 Type-a ports and three more USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports (5 Gbps), as well as a USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-c port (10 Gbps) your bases are covered as well. The rear IO also reveals a duo of DisplayPort 1.2 connectors and a single HDMI 2.0 and wait for it ... a VGA port.

Pricing has yet to be determined, but this can't be expensive.
