Geforce RTX 4090: Custom graphics card from Lenovo spotted in quad-slot design

The Geforce RTX 4090 is anticipated to launch Nvidia's next graphics card generation in October, and more advanced picture material for the new top model is already available.



A picture of a Geforce RTX 4090 variant from Lenovo has now emerged. Although Lenovo is not particularly renowned as a traditional board partner for bespoke designs on the DIY market, in the case of the Radeon RX 6900 XT Legion, for example, it already had in-house manufacturing for the in-house full PCs.

In all likelihood, the Geforce RTX 4090 is the preliminary flagship of the upcoming Geforce series from the designated "Ada" generation with the same-named architecture, ahead of the RTX 4080 and Co. models that are said to follow a little later, and is said to have an AD102 GPU at 16,384 CUDA cores along with 24 GiB GDDR6X memory, but according to the rumor mill, this is not yet the potential full expansion (128 SM Solid details regarding the RTX 4090 are expected during Nvidia's GTC in-house exhibition, which runs from September 19th to 22nd.

The Geforce RTX 4090 is also seen in a Legion PC in the Twitter leak here, where the angular shape of the Legion graphics cards is supposedly kept, although four slots are taken owing to a triple fan cooler with a particularly large heat sink. As a result, there is very little room down to the power supply cover of the apparent Micro-ATX chassis, much along the length to the front. While the Geforce RTX 4090 lettering is pixelated, there is a single 12VHPWR power plug of the ATX 3.0 specification for the latest generation of PCI-E 5.0 graphics cards, which can potentially provide 600 watts. The RTX 4090 is believed only to utilize 450 watts of this, while there is apparently "a lot of opportunity for expanding the power limit," according to Videocardz.
