Fractal Design Replaces Torrent Fan Hub Due To Possible Short Circuit

The Fractal Design fan hub in its Torrent case can cause a short circuit. Fans should not be used in conjunction with the fan hub, according to the manufacturer, which will provide replacements at no cost.

Fractal Design has temporarily halted sales of the Torrent case in order to ensure that no additional copies of the case with defective fan hubs end up in the hands of potential consumers, according to a blog post published by the firm. Sales of the case will resume as soon as the revised fan hub is made available for purchase. A spokesperson for Fractal Design said that its development team is "working furiously to design and build an upgraded version" of the fan hub, which should be available as "soon as possible" after it is completed. 

Users of torrent cases are urged to disable the fan hub and to distribute instructions on how to do so. Users can file a request for a replacement fan hub on the Fractal Design website, and the item will be dispatched as soon as the new ones are available for purchase. The business has also communicated with retail partners, and it is expected to issue full refunds to individuals who do not wish to wait for the replacement kit to be shipped out.

Fractal Design reports that it has received "less than five" notifications from users so far this year. According to the business, the fault would "in the vast majority of situations" cause the short-circuit protection in the power supply to activate. This promptly shuts down the computer and prevents irreparable damage.
