Forza 7 PC Graphics Performance Benchmarks

Forza 7 PC Graphics Performance Benchmarks

Earlier last week when the Forza 7 demo was released I was looking into a graphics performance review. Unfortunately the game is limited towards 30 or 60 FPS caps and a forced VSYNC setting, there is a workaround though.

Our German colleagues from computerbase.de have found a workaround, the full version can be unlocked in the cap, however as soon as you divert from the native resolution of your monitor, the sync kicks back in. Basically what the guys did was use an Ultra HD monitor, got rid of the cap and VSYNC, however in order to not restrict themselves, they re- sampled with the in-game up/down sampling options to match Full HD and Ultra HD resolutions (emulating them). The methodology they used certainly doesn’t win the equivalent of a beauty contest, but for some quick raw numbers it does get the job done towards a reasonable enough proximity. I had a peek, thus far I remain to be unable to break free from the 60 FPS cap myself.

They tested the game at Ultra quality settings using Crimson ReLive 17.9.3 and GeForce 385.69 drivers on a Core i7-6850K system with the cores clocked at 4.3 , and what shows itself is that AMD is doing peculiarly well in Forza 7 for both performance and frametime. Check out the results, courtesy of computerbase.de

Was not expecting this

If the game still has the core0 bug I would wait till that is cleared up before crowning a king. Though this is a bright spot for AMD but to be expected with the lead platform being AMD based.

yeah 9fps on 4k for a fury x seems really buggy

That is likely running out of VRAM.

The spread of performance looks similar to the weird spread that FH3 had prior to core0 fix.

Really? It takes 4k resolution for the GTX1080Ti to beat the Vega 64? and at 1080p the RX580 has better minimum fps than a GTX1080Ti? This is some BS.

I mean the Ti is only running 25% faster than a 1070 in FHD, there is clearly some kind of CPU issue. Vega is performing nicely though compared to the rest of AMD's stack, so it seems like the game is well optimized for it.

The article states there is a CPU comparison benchmark but I don't see it?
