First PlayStation 5 that died was due to its SSD
While PlayStation 5 has not been officially launched yet, there are already reports of the first fatality, and everything seems to point to the (Samsung) SSD failing.
The owner of this console is (or was) YouTuber and game reviewer Jeremy Penter, better known as ACG on the video platform. Penter revealed on Twitter that his unit no longer turns on. Apparently, the user was affected by their PS5 after experiencing problems with the " storage rebuild, "a problem that "other" influencers had already reported, but that "in my case, escalated to a large number of errors and network problems and Boot."
The most worrying thing about this is that it would not be an isolated case if other people have already told you that they have experienced similar errors. So it remains to be seen what Sony's response will be. Besides, Penter said that "Sony and I were working on a solution to the problem when it completely died."
It's not clear at the moment what exactly caused your PlayStation 5 to fail, but considering that even Sony's attempts to fix it weren't successful, we may not know for a while. In the same way, it is too early to know if we are facing a gross exit error or if it is a few units, although, of course, no console was launched without problems.

I knew it - they should have gone with Samsung in the first place, instead of this cheap trash.

Not surprising at all. Here's the LEGIT answers to everyone's questions that asked months ago, why were Sony so closed lip on info on the performance, etc. for the PS5 as it reaches its launch date a couple of months ago.
Now, we know why.

One thing is potential fatal flaw in integrated controller for SSD. Other thing is to have wide spread failures on multiple integrated parts.
Can be as well electrical issue of particular unit. (VRMs)
As for post, important is, that he was not only one who reported storage issues. Questions are:
"Is issue recoverable?"
"Are data lost in process?"
"Does it repeat after some time again?"

So...someone who is working with the manufacturer to resolve an issue on a pre-launch piece of hardware is reporting that...they haven't finished working with the manufacturer?
I think the outcome is what people would want to know, maybe they should wait until then, versus trying to gain attention on shitter.
