The graphics architecture Vega from AMD, underlying graphics cards such as the Radeon VII and Radeon PRO VII, is slated for cessation of maintenance support in the ROCm GPU programming software stack.

As detailed in the release notes of ROCm version 5.6, the "gfx906" series - encompassing the AMD Instinct MI50 accelerator, Radeon VII client graphics card, and Radeon PRO VII professional visualization graphics card - is set to enter its End of Maintenance (EOM) phase in Q3-2023. This change coincides with the planned rollout of ROCm version 5.7.

"EwoutH", a developer on GitHub, found this data and noted the "gfx906" series' near five-year age. It is significant to mention that both the Radeon PRO VII and Instinct MI50 accelerator remain available for purchase in the market.
