Dell's New Thin Client Products: OptiPlex and Latitude Models

Dell announced the launch of four thin client products, including an integrated display model known as Thin Client Solution OptiPlex All-in-One. The lineup includes two desktop products and two notebook PCs, all of which are based on OptiPlex and Latitude designs for corporate usage.



The OptiPlex All-in-One is a thin client that features a built-in display and a choice between 35W and 65W 13th generation Core processors. It includes a variety of interfaces such as USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C and Type-A, an SD card slot, HDMI 2.1, HDMI 1.4, and DisplayPort 1.4a. The model also boasts a pop-up IR option for the integrated webcam. This product measures 540mm in width, 57.9mm in depth, and 354.30mm in height, with a weight of 6.32kg (including the stand). A smaller desktop variant, the Thin Client Solution OptiPlex Micro, is expected to be released at the end of August.

The Thin Client Solution Latitude 3440 is an entry-level mobile thin client equipped with a 12th or 13th generation Core processor. It offers interfaces such as USB 3.2 Gen1, USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C, RJ45, and HDMI, with an IR option for the webcam. This model measures 322.2mm in width, 219.4mm in depth, and 17.70mm in thickness, with a starting weight of 1.52kg. The starting price for the Thin Client Solution Latitude 3440 is $879.

The Thin Client Solution Latitude 5440 is a mid-tier mobile thin client equipped with a 12th or 13th generation Core processor that can be configured with higher specifications. In addition to an IR option for the webcam, this model also supports fingerprint authentication. The interfaces include USB 3.2 Gen1, Thunderbolt 4, RJ45, and HDMI 2.0. The model measures 321.4mm in width, 212mm in depth, and 19.1mm in thickness, with a weight of 1.39kg. The starting price for the Thin Client Solution Latitude 5440 is $1650.

All products, except some models, are available for purchase as of the announcement date. Each supports pre-installation of Dell ThinOS, Dell Hybrid Client, and Windows 10 IoT Enterprise. With enhanced security and IT management, they can fortify the Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environment. The integrated "Wyse Management Suite" allows centralized management of all thin clients from a single console.
