A month or two ago we already posted that AMD might release an FX processor intender for tweakers. the processor would be based on the current Vishera IC, is actually can do a 5.00 GHz frequency at a nasty TDP levels. The guys over at SweClockers state that AMD is working on at two new socket AM3+ FX-series processors to make it competitive against Intel's 4th generation Core series. The first being a FX-9000 with the second being a FX-8770.
The FX-9000 would be clocked 4.80 GHz at default, with a TurboCore frequency of 5.00 GHz, the FX-8770 remains TBS. A catch here is the TDP of these chips.
If you look at the TDP, yes that is two hundred and twenty Watts. AMD plans to unveil the two at E3, that would be roughly 11th and 13th June.
