So....Pay an extra $10 for an "upgrade" to the next gen console version....Basically almost buying the game again(I realize that $10 isn't a lot, but still kind of shitty instead of offering a free upgrade like games did from say the PS3 to PS4 and Xbox 360 to Xbox One, but I guess better than buying the whole game again at $60), and confused about cross play. Do they mean that cross generation cross play such as PS4 and PS5 can play together and Xbox One and Xbox Series X can only play together? If this is the case, this is a huge step back from the general full cross platform that Modern Warfare has. Also seems like they're going to build on Warzone, while I'm not a huge fan of it this is pretty cool to see them not doing another battle royal to just move to after making so much progress in one.

Cross-play - The new Call of Duty, which spans the entirety of the Cold War from the 1960s to the 1980s, will allow console and PC players to play together in matches. This isn't a surprise; we knew all future Call of Duty games would feature cross-play going forward (all Blizzard games will support this too).
Cross-progression - This is extremely important. Cross-play falls apart without any cross-progression. Everything you do and unlock--your ranks, your weapons, operators, skins, etc.--will carry over regardless of what platform you play on.
Cross-gen - This is also extremely important and is a new business mechanism that will open new monetization doorways for Activision. The idea is to create a unified framework where gamers can not only buy the game, but also spend money in a multi-platform, cross-generational model. https://www.tweaktown.com/news/74745/black-ops-cold-war-features-cross-progression-play/index.html

Know Your History (or be doomed to repeated it)... considering that tagline, Activision's decision to fold to the Chinese Communist Parties demand to remove the clip of the Tiananmen Square scene is in Very Poor taste. (the original teaser video containing this scene has been marked Private and a new shorter video released)
...all this from an oppressive regime whose people of younger generations do not even know the Tiananmen Square massacre happened. Those that do ask about it are told no one died there, or even that it didn't happen... independent sources put the number killed that day close to 10,000

This from a regime that imprisons many millions of Uyghur (a native Muslim population) and Falun Gong practitioners (a little like Yoga or Tai Chi) + other prisoners of conscience in slave labour camps today who are forced to make many products sold to the west. They are brutally tortured and the CCP regularly is also using them as a living donor bank and forcibly harvesting their organs to sell on demand. The Spanish Donor Transplant Institute has assisted the CCP in it's organ harvesting programs and also acted as a conduit for its murderously sourced organs into the EU market.

Yet Activision helps hide the mass torture and murder going on Today so it can get access to some sweet $$$

I will have nothing to do with a company that behaves as hideously as this, especially considering the games "Know Your History" tag line.

EDIT: I must add for those that do not know, the CCP is committing genocide against the Uyghurs with forced steralisation and mass poisoning to make them less fertile, torture, mass murder and forced marriage to Han Chinese to wipe out their culture and ethnic identity. The Uyghur live in the Xinjiang province of China and in the 60's made up 95% of it's population, today after the CCP's efforts they make up about 50%.
There is a Lot more that could be said, feel free to look deeper into this if it concerns you...
