BenQ Releases XR3501 Curved Monitor

BenQ Releases XR3501 Curved Monitor

BenQ in the USA today introduced a 144Hz 21:9 all-new XR3501 curved gaming display with 2560x1080 resolution. The minitor uses a VA panel. BenQ's XR3501 monitor has been designed for casual gamers looking for a more enveloping gaming experience.

Designed to provide a more immersive gaming experience, the 35-inch panel brings gamers a dramatic 2,000R curvature -- the highest of any LCD monitor -- as well as a lightning-fast 144-Hz refresh rate, ultra-wide 21:9 aspect ratio, and BenQ's RevolutionEyes technology -- allowing gamers to experience enhanced visual comfort, a larger viewing area, and seamless peripheral views for a more authentic sense of engagement with today's dynamic content.

"BenQ's new XR3501 monitor is set to transform gaming into a faster, wider, and more engaging all-around experience," said J.Y. Hu, Vice President, Business Line Management at BenQ America Corp. "Featuring a 2-meter curvature, a fast-action refresh rate, and a 2560x1080 resolution, the panel provides breathtaking visuals that surround users with edge-to-edge excitement. Players will experience their favorite games in an entirely new way while features such as Black eQualizer, RevolutionEyes technology, and PIP will definitely put them ahead of the pack."

With over 20 options for color vibrance, the VA panel provides higher color reproduction with better viewing angles, which proves vital when using such a large curved screen by adding an extra layer of color optimization. Users can also adjust color levels directly via OSD or DisplayPilot for complete color control. Using Black eQualizer, the panel brightens darker scenes within games without over-exposing white levels -- giving gamers the advantage of seeing details more clearly than their competitors, while picture in picture allows multiple sources to be connected and viewed on the monitor.

With a focus on "Eye-Care" and visual comfort, the XR3501 is equipped with BenQ's RevolutionEyes technology. Featuring ZeroFlicker, the monitor eliminates flickering at all brightness levels, reducing visual strain to provide a more comfortable viewing experience. When combined with the device's built-in Low Blue Light modes, the monitor also successfully filters the exposure of emitted blue spectrum light -- effectively reducing eye fatigue and elevating gaming performance to provide exceptional visual comfort, even during long hours of gaming or dynamic content viewing.

BenQ's curved XR3501 monitor is now shipping across North America at an MSRP of $999.

Only 2560x1080 and its $999....
Ill pass.
Same res as my 25 inch LG 25UM55-P
144hz is very nice and so is the curved 35 inch.
But Id rather spend $750-$800 on a nice 3440x1440 21:9. I dont mind 60hz or 75hz.
I almost never use vsync, and have my monitor overclocked to 75hz.

whilst its specs are pretty decent i dont think many people would shell out $1000 for it when they can get similar specs for a few hundred dollars less.

saying that, i wouldn't turn one down if i was given it for free :D

I dont normally post on forums, but couldnt help myself.
I have had this monitor for 2 weeks and i think the trade of is worth it for me.
Sure the res is low compared other 34inch monitors, hower im comming from the rog swift so going back to 60hz or even 75hz just is not an option anymore.
Its not as fast as the swift but its close.
With dsr at 144hz at 35inch curved things look pretty good, and we wont bee seeing 1440p res at 144hz im guessing until display port 1.3 which hasnt even been released on any current gen graphics card.

I won't be buying anything with the curved gimmick. Curved screens only matter when they surround you and aid your peripheral vision, like IMAX. You should and will never be that close to a desktop monitor for the the curve to be a good idea.

And for home theater watching, it's an utter joke. It makes the pictures HARDER to see for the other people in the room...in addition to not making a difference because you are too far away.

Bigger screens, higher resolution, faster refresh, real blacks (OLED, etc.), wider gamut...those things make a difference and are what the manufacturers should be focusing exclusively on.

I actually forgot to mention the blacks and colors are very good, gsync would have been nice as i was used to that for a year or so,but not a deal breaker as my frames are high always.I would definitely choose 144hz with no gsync vs gsync at 60hz.Thought the curve was a bit of a gimmick also, its growing on me,in project cars its awesome ,definitely adds some immersion.
