Powered by Intel's latest 10 nm Celeron N5105 Quad-Core processor, clocked up to 2.9 GHz, the AS54 series delivers a 31% performance boost compared to previous-generation Celeron CPUs. Additionally, the inclusion of 4 GB DDR4-2933 RAM provides up to 20% improved performance over DDR4-2400.

ASUSTOR recently announced the launch of its new high-speed NAS "AS54" series, capable of accommodating up to four NVMe M.2 SSDs. The product lineup comprises two models: the 2-bay "AS5402T" and the 4-bay "AS5404T," priced at $369 and $529 respectively for the global market. This latest release focuses on delivering enhanced storage capabilities and efficient data transfer speeds.

The main unit of the NAS features both 2.5/3.5-inch drive bays and four M.2 slots with PCI Express 3.0 connections. These M.2 slots allow for the installation of M.2 SSDs, which can be utilized as storage cache or system storage. Additionally, the device is equipped with dual 2.5 Gigabit LAN ports, supporting link aggregation and SMB multi-channel for high-speed data transfers, achieving impressive read speeds of up to 576MB/s and write speeds of up to 566MB/s.

Powering the AS54 series is a quad-core SoC Celeron N5105 processor, capable of reaching speeds of up to 2.9 GHz. The graphics function is handled by Intel UHD Graphics, offering smooth video playback up to 4K resolution with 10-bit H.265 decoding. Users can easily enjoy their favorite media content by connecting the NAS to a display via the HDMI port.

The 2-bay model, "AS5402T," comes equipped with DDR4-2933 SO-DIMM 4GB memory, 8GB eMMC flash memory, three USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports, one HDMI 2.0b port, a 70mm cooling fan, and a 65W AC adapter. Its dimensions are 114mm in width, 230mm in depth, and 170mm in height, with a weight of 1.71kg.

On the other hand, the 4-bay model, "AS5404T," offers the same specifications as the 2-bay model, including DDR4-2933 SO-DIMM 4GB memory, 8GB eMMC flash memory, three USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports, one HDMI 2.0b port, but features a larger 120mm cooling fan and a 90W AC adapter. Its dimensions are 174mm in width, 230mm in depth, and 170mm in height, weighing 2.26kg.

The ASUSTOR AS54 series, featuring the AS5402T and AS5404T models, is now available. These innovative NAS solutions offer exceptional performance and affordability.

Enhanced Storage Options with M.2 Slots:

A notable addition to the AS54 series is the inclusion of four M.2 slots that support NVMe SSDs. Utilizing PCIe 3.0, these slots offer lightning-fast read and write speeds. The M.2 SSDs can be utilized for system storage, caching, or both, significantly enhancing data access speed across different volume types. This feature ensures maximum speed and capacity for the AS54 series.

Advanced Networking and USB Performance:

The AS54 series is equipped with dual 2.5-Gigabit network ports, supporting Link Aggregation and SMB Multichannel for a combined speed of up to 5 Gbps. These ports are backward compatible with Gigabit and 100-Megabit Ethernet. When utilizing SMB Multichannel, users can achieve impressive read speeds of up to 576 MB/s and write speeds of up to 566 MB/s. The AS54 also offers three USB 3.2 Gen2x1 ports, doubling the performance of USB 3.2 Gen1x1, providing up to 10 Gbps of data transfer speed. This significantly improves transfer speeds when using external drives and SSDs.

Enhanced Multimedia Capabilities and ADM 4.2:

The AS54 series supports 10-bit 4K H.265 decoding streaming through the integrated iGPU. It also features an HDMI port for video output and playback, making it an ideal choice for home entertainment and editing tasks. The AS54 runs on ADM 4.2, which brings various improvements to features and stability. Notable enhancements include the intuitive and user-friendly quick guide feature, support for all-new two-way share links, MyArchive functionality, automatic mount and unmount features, DNS Challenge format, and WireGuard VPN client support.

Improved Chassis Design and Cooling:

ASUSTOR has made several enhancements to the award-winning chassis of the AS54 series. The addition of extra heat dissipation holes not only aids in dissipating heat generated by M.2 devices but also enhances the overall appearance. This design improvement prevents overheating and prolongs the lifespan of SSDs, ensuring a reliable and high-performance desktop NAS solution for enthusiasts and content creators.
