ASUS VivoStick TS10 Mini PC Stick

In the trend of compute sticks ASUS has released their newest mini PC stick, the VivoStick TS10. This compact PC stick is equipped with a 1.44GHz Intel Atom x5-Z8350 processor, an Intel HD Graphics, a 2GB DDR3 RAM and a 32GB eMMC.

Measuring 139mm x 36mm x 16.5mm and weighing 75 grams, running on Windows 10 Home 64-bit OS, the device has 1x USB 2.0 port, 1x USB 3.0 port, 1x HDMI connection interface (can be connected directly to the HDMI TV or display), WiFi 802.11ac & Bluetooth 4.1 connectivity. There's no setup needed, VivoStick boots up quickly and is ready to go right out-of-the-box. It isn't found wanting in the specifications list either, with 2GB of memory, 32GB onboard storage, dual-band 802.11ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 ports, an audio jack, and an HDMI port in its ultra-compact design. On top of that, you get 100GB of ASUS WebStorage space free, so wherever you are in the world, you can use your VivoStick to access files stored in the cloud.

additionally, the VivoStick TS10 comes with ‘HyStream’ software that corresponds to the AirPlay function of Android and iOS and ‘VivoRemote Center’ software – to simplify the operation of the PC.

You can also download the VivoRemote application for free (Android or iOS) – you can use your smartphone or tablet as a mouse or a keyboard. The ASUS VivoStick TS10 will hit the market from April 8th for around 21,500 Yen (about $195).

If this thing had 4gb RAM I would buy it. The reason I have not bought those cheap Intel Compute sticks is the 2gb RAM instead of 4gb.

I would not have a problem to pay 20 or 30€ more for 4gb model...

Everyone should remember that official specs are bogus.
Fully loaded CPU eats around 5W and same goes for iGPU. With basic cooling it can do maybe 70% of maximum clock (like 1~2 cores loaded only). In plastic compute stick, it will choke itself.

And btw, those x5-z83xx are limited to 2GB ram.
x5-z85xx can do 8GB and with 10W cooling + Throttlestop. They are actually decent.

So, before you buy any of those, look if it at least can be modified.
(optimally metallic body and little to no space between CPU and cover = coin mod)
