AMD Threadripper 5000 series is expected to be released in August

AMD Threadripper 5000 series is expected to be released in August

Zen 3 Threadripper 5000 series HEDT processors could be introduced in August, according to several sources. In August "Chagall", the codename for Threadripper 5000 would be launched. Let's call it the HEDT ZEN3 version similar to EPYC Milan already released.

These chips are available in core accounts up to 64, covering two CPU socket types — STRX4 and SWRX8 (Ryzen Threadripper PRO), which support Ryzen 3000 Threadripper's current motherboards will require UEFI firmware updates. A Zen 3 CCDuses all 8 CPU cores on one single CCX and shares a 32 MB L3 unified cache. sTRX4 chips see a DDR4 interface with four channels and 8 channels for SWRX8 with both ECC and 88 PCI-Express Gen 4 lanes, the I/O is equivalent to the previous version. Please do take some disclaimers in mind, as this info is non-verified.

V-Cache?

Not possible, they won't be available, those with V-Cache, until late 2021 or early 2022. It cannot be on Chagall.

i've used HEDT since (Intel) X79, migrated to X99, X299 and then TR gen1. the difference was night and day so i went to TR 2. the market for HEDT has moved hard for enterprise applications and the TR5000 is so far beyond my needs i don't feel to need to buy one because i can. i've been tickled pink by the 5950x and the difference in price went into my loop and gpu. i didn't feel half as cheated as i was when i bought my rx6800xt because the difference in mobo and cpu price between Ryzen and TR was so big.
but if i was running a company or needed to bang out massive data i would build around the 5000 series simply because it's the BEAST err, best

If only I could win the lottery one day. I'll buy some gen 5 TR computers to some special gurus here. And one for me, or course.
