AMD Threadripper 5000 series is expected to be released in August

Zen 3 Threadripper 5000 series HEDT processors could be introduced in August, according to several sources. In August "Chagall", the codename for Threadripper 5000 would be launched. Let's call it the HEDT ZEN3 version similar to EPYC Milan already released.



These chips are available in core accounts up to 64, covering two CPU socket types — STRX4 and SWRX8 (Ryzen Threadripper PRO), which support Ryzen 3000 Threadripper's current motherboards will require UEFI firmware updates. A Zen 3 CCDuses all 8 CPU cores on one single CCX and shares a 32 MB L3 unified cache. sTRX4 chips see a DDR4 interface with four channels and 8 channels for SWRX8 with both ECC and 88 PCI-Express Gen 4 lanes, the I/O is equivalent to the previous version.
