The AMD Ryzen 5 2400G by itself is not exactly a secret, the to be released Radeon Vega enabled APU has fully announced already and should be hitting the etailers by next week. Well, it already went up on preorder in the czech republic, with pricing and everything.

The APU is listed as AMD RYZEN 5 2400G (4core/8T, 3,9GHz, 6MB L3 cache, socket AM4, 65W ) , RX VEGA graphics, Wraith Stealth. As you all know, the APU will be able to boost to 3.9 GHz and gets a fairly high 3.6 GHz base clock. "The 2400G has an embedded GPU, based on Vega architecture with 11 shader clusters, offering 704 Shader processors. The webshop is, listing the Raven Ridge APU at 4199 Czech Koruna which equals to 166 Euros.

AMD announced two desktop SKUs based on Raven Ridge. The product names for the two initial SKUs are:

  • AMD Ryzen 3 2200G with Radeon Vega 8 graphics
  • AMD Ryzen 5 2400G with Radeon Vega 11 graphics.
So that's 8 CUs for the 2200G = 512 shader processors for the cheaper SKU. What is interesting to see straight of the bat is that default memory speeds have been bumped upwards to up to 2933 MHz. Since the APUs graphics engine makes use of that DDR4 memory, this is a clever move. All AM4 platforms are currently being prepared with Raven Ridge and Ryzen 2000 CPUs BIOS updates. The upcoming Ryzen 2000 processors would launch alongside new X470 motherboards. The motherboard manufacturers claim support speeds of up to 4000 MHz.
