AMD launches Ryzen 5 3500X and Ryzen 9 3900 for OEM In Asia

We talked about the Ryzen 9 3900 non X model for quite a while now, it is officially available but intended for OEM businesses and system integrators.

The same as “Ryzen 9 3900X”, the TDP is limited to 65W despite its grand 12 cores / 24 threads. The main specifications are confirmed to be a base clock 3.10GHz and a turbo clock of 4.30GHz, L1 cache 768KB, L2 cache 6MB, L3 cache 64MB, PCI-Express4.0 16 lanes, memory DDR4-3200, maximum temperature 95 ° C, There is no difference in specs except that the base clock is -0.7GHz and the boost clock is -0.3 GHz. "Precision Boost Overdrive" and manual overclocking will be possible.

In addition, the middle-range class “Ryzen 5 3500X” has been announced for OEM / SI in the Chinese market as well. It has six cores in combination with six threads and no SMT (Hyper threading). Just like the 3600, this model has 32 MB of L3 cache and uses only a single core chiplet. The tdp is at 65 watts, whereby it can achieve speeds between 3.6 GHz and 4.1 GHz.

Priced and cooled appropriately, the 3500 and 3500x paired with one of those rx 5500's and the oem's could make a very attractive entry-level gaming or workstation. Would be very nice and could really clean up in the 1000 dollar and less desktop market.

So do I understand that the 3900 will be available in USA (albeit for OEMs only) and it's just the 3500 that will be restricted to Asia?

What is the new equivalent of old cheap and productive Ryzen 1200? I still cannot find something really near its price/perf ratio.

Ryzen 3 3200G

It may be Zen+, but its base MSRP is cheaper then the 1200, provides graphics, and a has a base frequency of 3.6Ghz instead of 3.1Ghz, and a boost of 4.0Ghz instead of 3.4Ghz. Seems like quite the performance to price ratio, since it's $99 vs $119 as well.

Ryzen 1200: $109, 4 core, 4 thread, 3.1Ghz base, 3.4Ghz boost, no iGPU
Ryzen 3200G: $99, 4 core, 4 thread, 3.6Ghz base, 4.0Ghz Boost, iGPU included.

Personally i wouldn't be surprised to not see a Zen2 $100ish CPU until next year when it's tied with an APU.
